Peru, August 2018. The sun beats down while she weaves. Her movements are methodical, engrained, as she looks at me with her playful, childlike eyes. They stand in stark contrast to the sunken and gaunt face before me. Still, she seems serene and fulfilled. And so I approach, fascinated, and introduce myself to the Lady of Isla Taquile.
